V6 Thermostat (2.9 with 2.8 carb inlet)

Any ideas how I can rig up a thermostat? Egnine is 12 valve 2.9 V6 a la mk3 granada, but with 2.8 carb inlet manifold. Thermostat is on block on 2.8 but not on 2.9. This is similar (basic) setup to V6 eurocars, so I'm guessing they must have sorted something. Someone suggested I may be able to get an in-line thermostat housing. Any ideas appreciated.
