Engine dilemma
Discussion
I currently have a 1.5 Connect van that has the non wet belt diesel engine.
Looking to change to the new model Transit Courier with the eco boost petrol engine.
My dilemma is, that I only do 4K miles per year - I bought the current van new back in July 2020 but doing so few miles I’m concerned the DPF is at some point going to give up.
I often have to take it on runs just to clear it.
However, reading about the issues with the eco boost, am I potentially trading one problem for another?
Not sure if the problems have been resolved on the 2024 MY engines and of course, dealers don’t seem to think there’s any issues… lol.
Is it a bit like Harry’s Magnum..do I feel lucky?
