Whats everyone buying to replace their EcoBoost powered Ford.

After 50 years and a million or so miles, and pretty good reliability I might have to change to a different Marque.

Are Japanese makers still a good bet ?

Hasn’t Ford gone back to chain, from about 2020?

The turbo is also now on the side of the bulkhead, with the intake manifold at the front of the engine.

I’ve changed to another 1.0 ecoboost , other one was 94,000 when troubles began , this one was 46,000 when I got it , car does everything we need , so went for the same car but maybe 1.5 diesel would of been a better bet , we will see if it the right decision

New one , same car , focus 1.0 titanium , this one has sports pack ( wheels / privacy pack ) , and up rated stereo ( Sony ) , it could well engine wise turn out to be a terrible decision , but as a family car it does everything we want , we’ll , so easy to drive , wife / daughter always using it

To op
If you decide on another focus , check it very well for water ingress, the new one has been a nightmare, like a paddling pool inside , had to have it completely stripped out and all seams resealed , red one never did it , but being told there prone to it

this was back seat a week after we got car , headlong showed no marked , body shop think it was being drawn up from under seat , car showed no signs of water ingress when we brought it , so previous owner / selling garage did a good job of covering it
Seems solved now but we’re at point of rejecting the car
Best of luck with whatever you buy
