Mk 6 Fiesta 1.6 TDCI - Limp Mode?
Discussion
We have a 58plate 90hp 1.6 diesel fiesta which has recent started occasionally suffering from reduced power.
- Struggles to accelerate at all above 60-70mph
- Will not rev above 3.5k rpm while being driven, or 4k under no load.
Typically key cycling it will clear the issue.
No warning lights at all, have not got a OBD reader.
Boost control actuator, control solenoid, sooted vanes, turbo underboost, split hoses, DPF wiring issues, etc have all be mentioned in past threads on here and FO Club forums.
Anything to look for other than getting a OBD reader on it?

It's tricky to diagnose from this description but (as far as I am aware) yours doesn't have a DPF as these were introduced in 2010 on the 95PS models. It's tricky to diagnose from this description and could be any of those things putting it in limp mode. It could also be something along the lines of injectors / fuel pump / fuel filter.
You might be lucky with an OBD reader and finding the faults, but really you want a decent one with live sensor readouts (something like forScan might be a cheap way of doing this).

As an update, the second new turbo was just as bad!
Back to the shop, boost control solenoid, so another £140 later and we were back on the road.
Car then set for a few weeks while I drove the E46, but as thats now have a few days in the garage I back in the Fiesta and can report its running fine again.
Just need to sort the dash vent motors now!
