SYNC 3 Software Updates

Few years ago I had an issue with a Transit Custom with the Sync 3 system where Apple CarPlay would freeze at random. No amount of unplugging, turning off and on again, etc would solve it. Had to leave the van turned off for about half an hour and that'd solve it. At the time I downloaded a Sync 3 software update from Ford's website, saved it to a USB stick, plugged it into the van and it updated itself... problem solved! Issue never returned.

Now the girlfriend has a Fiesta with the same Sync 3 system and is having the exact same issue as I did with the van. Went onto Ford's website and it seems they no longer allow you to download updates without an account. Created an account, signed in, put in the cars VIN number but I can't find anywhere where you can download software/firmware updates as I did before. There is an option to update the maps, but that's not the issue and even if it was there's no update available anyway.

Anyone else having the same issue? The car is out of warranty so Ford are unwilling to help unless we pay them £150+ just to 'look into it'.

Yeah that's where I've been looking. Not able to find any updates though.
