Hi all, I need a new work truck and thankfully now manufacturers are not sticking to the Euro 6 stuff and giving some decent V6 petrol or diesel engines instead of being gutless 2.0 things.

I am quite happy with the new Raptor as it comes with 288 bhp and 362 lbs but the AUZ version is exactly the same apart from some restrictions in the exhaust. I guess that with a simple straight pipe and remap it will be the same as the AUS and US Bronco being BHP 392 bhp and 420 lbs? I know the engine is exactly the same and it's just a dumb emissions restriction.

Cheers

EDIT: just stumbled across the the Hennessey 'VelociRaptor' Ranger Raptor with 500 BHP & 746Nm (https://www.hennesseyperformance.com/vehicles/2024-ford-ranger-raptor-upgrade-hennessey-velociraptor-500/) and as far as I can tell the only hardware modification are a 'High-Flow Air Induction System' and 'larger front-mounted intercooler' so if I was to go with that and a straight pipe is should make the same (500 BHP) with a remap.

Will I use this?! maybe once in a while and yes its over kill but I just want it. smile It either this is a V8 Defender.

No, it is not as simple as getting a straight pipe exhaust and a remap to get to the power output of the US and AUS vehicles. At a guess the engine will have different internals, different turbochargers, different injectors etc. Talk to some tuners to find how much more power you could get from the engine.

That’s because it’s the 2.0 diesel…
