Focus Mk2 Diesel - Strange noises

So my car has started making loud rattle very shortly after driving, sound like metal on metal rattling. The noise appears to be coming from the area near the timing belt.? At least I think thats what it is, bottom left of engine behind the drivers side head light low down.

there is also a puff, puff noise coming from the top of the engine and smoke appearing like its burning too much oil.

Any ideas or advice greatly appreciated.

Not too sure about the rattle, but if it is a 1.6 diesel the puffing/chuffing noise at the top will be your injector seals. Are there hard black deposits around the injectors? I had this on mine when I had my Focus. Not too expensive to fix provided the injectors come out relatively easily.

I found the culprit to the rattle, its the Air Compressor Pulley. It has 3 rubbers thing which I assume help hold it in place. One in missing and one is very worn. Any idea where I can get these or what they are called. I can only find an entire pulley replacement.
