Hey Guys!

I've got a vehicle with a 1990 Granada EFI 2.0 DOHC 8v and MT75 gearbox.
It starts and runs fine, ticks over, and revs cleanly. Once it's warm, after about 2-3 mins, it starts to stutter, and eventually loses power. If you turn the engine off, and then restart, it is fine for another minute, then plays up again. You can keep doing this many times. You can hear the fuel pump priming every time, so all good. Somebody mentioned a fuel return valve?? I couldn't find it by that name, so is there another name for it??

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

Regards, Manic

Coil or coil pack breaking down? Clue would be if it's warm to the touch (engine stopped, ignition off)

From ex Auto electrician now retirerd 80 years old......on more old school cars....You need test equipment to check....could well be Coil breaking down, so a HT tester on a HT lead at spark plug when you break down....will show very poor or if any spark....re Fuel system my notes hear on your car show Fuel pressure should be 70psi this kept at this pressure via pressure regulator....located on the end of the intake fuel rail...from there it returns fuel to tank...this valve has a small rubber pipe going to manifold.....Fuel pump pressure has to be tested with pressure gauge....my experience Bosch pressure pump on your car very good...some get noisy after High milage....but you can hear this....again Tests must be maid with proper equipment. in series with the pressure fuel line to injectors / rail. best i can help. Hi Peter,
from your advice, I began to research and check things. I've found that the replacement pump is rated 1.2 bar (17.5 psi) and the car has an adjustable pressure regulator valve fitted, with a guage set at 40 psi...I'm so confused now??
