Sync2 to Sync3

I have a 2016 Kuga with Sync2, is it possible to upgrade to Sync3 ? I'm assuming a hardware swap out if so ?

Sure is.

From the mk3 Focus perspective you need:

- Newer APIM (controller module) and screen. They bolt together and they're a direct replacement for the previous unit. This is the expensive bit.
- New USB hub/connector in the armrest
- A GPS antenna as it uses a slightly different type - I bought an OE Ford one for about £30
- An appropriate length of cable with Fakra connector for the GPS antenna
- A copy of Forscan to configure it with the modules your car has, unless you can find an eBay seller of the APIM who can do this for you.

Total cost for me was around £550 and it was pretty straightforward, and a worthwhile upgrade.

I expect the procedure is more or less the same for the Kuga.
