Just received an email about a new electric Ford being launched next week.

Any idea what it is?

Probably an EV blob of an SUV but called a e-GT40 so they can ruin another brand of theirs.

Nope, it’s the E-Scort.

Autocar reckon it's something American styled on top of VWs ID-4 platform; Interested to know what sort of market research lead them to think, "Yes, that is what Europeans want" - but there we go.

I'm pretty disappointed that they're building on a VW platform; Translates to "Less choice" on the market... Why would you buy something made to fit, instead of the original thing?

It’s the EV based on the VW platform. Probably the most important vehicle launch for Ford of Europe for many years tbh.

Let’s hope they have got the driver interface to work better / be more intuitive than vag

I can't help but share your cynicism.

After they ported over the VW infotainment in the caddy/tourneo this is one of my biggest concerns with this vehicle. Praying they use the latest sync system and no haptic buttons!

Well if we’re guessing names I did have the Capr-e on my list of old nameplate rehashes.

I'd guess something similar to their current Puma because that seems to e what Ford buyers want now

Chances are it'll be the latest update of the MachE interface which seems to have a lot of positive reviews
