Ford fiesta 1.4 MK5 2002

my daughters fiesta has the battery light on !! Battery is 1 yr old and in good nick. Just changed the generator and it charging and and the battery is working good. charging numbers and all good and fine running and non running !.
Could it be data box ? ?

I have cleaned all contacts....even renewed chassi - motor cable....still on !!

anyone any tips ?

If I remember correctly the instrument clusters on this age of fiesta can go bad and need re soldering.

Probably the first thing I'd do is plug it in with an OBD reader or FORSCAN or something and read out the battery voltage values when the car is running. If this doesn't tally up with the values you are reading with your multimeter (across the battery) then there's a connection issue somewhere or possibly a bad earth. First thing I'd do is check the main fuses (there should be one with a battery symbol on it). After that it's a case of looking at the wiring diagrams and methodically going through all the appropriate connectors and continuity testing etc I'm afraid.
