OK, I know it's been done to death, but I've got a bit of a dilemma.

Bought an Escort with an XE.

Then a Series 1 millington came up (300hp/240lb/ft) and then a quaife 60G. It runs on 99ron and carbs.

Then a full group 4 spec escort came up with a 485hp cosworth and uprated T5.

So I'm selling the XE escort and going to strip and clean up the rally car.

It's only going to be a road car/ occasional track so I'm thinking the cosworth might be better.

But I've had a 270hp duratec in a Westfield with elite sequential, which I really miss and was lovely ringing it out. I'm sure the millington will be a step up from that and it made a great noise! No awesome noise!

But the cosworth is mind bendingly quick with more on the table and has a better top gear for cruising. Probably a better "road" setup and being less skillfully behind the when, easier to go fast when I want to.

Dynamically the millington will be a LOT lighter and don't NA cars get the power down better? Probably quicker round a circuit, which is also where I'll use it (track days).

But then a mk2 escort with a cosworth is still a great combination.

Cost is always a factor, the cossie will be less work as its already built for it, but a millington escort will be worth a fair bit more I'd have thought, especially with a 60G and paddle shift. But then what if I go through the effort of fitting the milly and I miss the power of the cossie.. I've got another high powered turbo car though... decisions....

So NA or turbo?

Turbo for me. Once on boost there's no looking back as the revs climb.

Millington every time. You don't need more power than that, and Escorts should always be NA.

Aye,I know. And it's good in thinking. But once you've tasted boost its addictive! If only I could try both!

I asked on Facebook, every man and his dog says millington. So I'll probably keep the cossie.

Actually I'm not sure.

After diving it more I am pretty sure I'll be fitting the millington.

485hp in an escort is hopeless. I know the tyres are cold and could probably do with the changing, but it comes on so hard and ferocious that it just lights up the rears in any gear.

A smaller turbo and less power would make a much quicker car. I can see why millingtons are so quick as the NA torque curve can put more power to the tarmac.

Is quick if you can hold on!
