Ford App Question

I hope I'm posting in the right place, Mods please move if not.
I get a new Ford transit every three years and there is a small set of books in the glovebox, detailing operational controls and the service book, but with this new transit those books are no longer supplied, (saving paper) I've been told its all on the App. I wondered if this is the same for the new Ford cars? Anyway, the reason I'm posting is that I like my vans to be maintained with a company that is conveniently very local to me, does a really good job and is cheaper. Am I right in thinking that from now on unless I get the van serviced at a Ford dealership, the service can't be added to the app, so that when I trade in the van it won't have a service history?
