Evening all

I'm looking at buying a 2.0 EcoBoost Powershift Galaxy with 160k+ miles on. Mad idea or as long as it's been looked after I shouldn't run into many problems?

Can the 2.0 EcoBoost engines handle big miles?

Cheers

I've looked a fair bit into this and seems the 1.0 then a gap to the 1.6 in terms of failures. Not heard much about the 2.0. But if the system is the same, coolant leaks from cracked degas without warning, engine cooks without warning cracking head causing coolant leak into cylinders =new engine. Seems same issue between 1.0 and 1.6 but more common on 1.0.

There was a recall and admittance in 2018 by Ford regarding the defects I think.

If the cars done 160k that's a good innings and if everything in order with history, service intervals and no major work then maybe it will be good till something else major goes.

I'm about to buy an 80k miles 1 owner FSH 1.6 ecoboost focus tomorrow and have some concerns but if the recalls been done and its on the same engine, coolant not leaking then hopefully will be OK.

I'd be more concerned about the powershift 'box at that kind of mileage.
