2011 Ford Focus Fault codes

A few days ago I got an engine management light appear, so I connected up FORScan and there were 3 old fault codes from months ago. So I tried to clear them but only 2 disappeared after clearing and resetting the module but the management light was now gone.

After driving the car the next day the engine management light re-appeared, connecting FORScan showed the 3 same, old fault codes. Again I tried to clear the fault codes but again only 2 disappeared. The code that seems to be causing the engine management light is an o2 sensor fault from March.
Why can't I permanently clear the codes and why is a fault code from March now causing an engine management light ?
