2015 Focus ST Timing Chain or Belt?

Just put down a deposit on a 2015 (65 plate) focus ST, which has the 2.0 Turbo eco boost engine which is on 51K miles.

It has full service history, and asked the dealer if it has a belt or chain, which the dealer was certain it was a belt.
As we couldn't see any evidence of it being replaced, he offered to do it as part of a included service for an extra £360.
Which i went with to be safe.


However having a quick google, im not sure if its a belt or a chain?, it doesn't seem to be a definitive answer.


So does anyone know for certain if these are a belt or a chain? As if its a chain i will need to speak to the dealer.

Dealer is at best ignorant or worst attempting to extract the urine.

Thanks, just spoke to dealer who had just assumed it was a belt!!

Anyway its £360 cheaper now, and i can have it a week earlier
