Focus 2012 1.0 ecoboost poss gearbox problem

Hi I’ve just bought a 2012 Focus eco boost with 6 speed manual. There is a knocking/clicking sound from the front when coasting in gear. It does not happen when out of gear or with the clutch in. Also occasionally it is stiff to get into first when stationary. A garage said the knocking was front discs so had those done but the knocking persists. Also had the osf engine mount replaced. Now the garage says deffo a gearbox problem as they listened to it with a stethoscope and heard the clicking. Does that sound right ? Any ideas ?

Actually it does do it out of gear also but much lower volume. So prob not gearbox related then.
