So im looking for an exhaust for my 1.0 fiesta st line.....

Hey there,
so i was causally looking into the world of exhaust modifications for the first time and became overwhelmed by the amount of different options that there are with different cars. My question is this, are Cat-Back exhausts legal in the sense that they pass an MOT(and is the exhaust I have linked also legal). reason why im asking this in particular is because ive seen this exhaust from Milltek Via Pumaspeed (https://pumaspeed.co.uk/product-SuperSport-Loudest-Milltek-Sport-Fiesta-Mk8-10-Cat-back_17639.jsp) which within the details states that it has no silencers. from my low level knowledge of modifying a car having no silencers at all are illegal according to some website and and forums. now from what ive seen, many people online are running these exhausts with no resonators and back boxes which is very confusing to say the least so some information would be greatly appreciated.

It's a cat back which means that so long as the OE cat is still in place it will pass an MOT on emissions. That said, if it's a completely unsilenced system without any boxes centre or rear, then there's a fairly decent chance it will either get failed by a decent tester for being far too loud, or alternatively you'll attract the attention of TrafPol and end up with a warning, fine, points, section59, etc, dependent on how they decide to deal with you. In addition to that, most people who'll hear you drive by will more than likely consider you a prize plum due to the noise it will be kicking out.

There's a guy a few roads over from me with an ST line in 125 form that is clearly running an unsilenced system like that on his - it's excessively noisy, resonates like anything when it drives past with the associated pop / bang map overun map and sounds ste - which isn't surprising considering it's fitted to a 1 litre engine.

in all honesty im not looking for anything illegal otherwise i wouldnt be asking, i just want, simply put, a non res catback system that would pass an MOT and wouldn't attract too much attention. mainly just something louder that would satisfy my needs. i was looking at alternatives like the normal road going version of the Milltek system (https://milltekshop.com/cat-back-non-res-louder-cat-back-with-gt-90-burnt-titanium-trim-fiesta-mk8-1-0t-ecoboost-st-line-3-5-door-non-opf-gpf-models-only-2017-ssxfd252/) or something from scorpion (https://www.scorpion-exhausts.com/ford-fiesta-mk8-1-0t-ecoboost-st-line-non-gpf-model-2017-2019-non-resonated-cat-back-system-daytona-black-ceramic). I think that both of these systems are legal right?
