Battery Drain 2011 Focus TDCI from instrument cluster / OBD
Discussion
Afternoon all,
I have been helping a colleague track the source of his battery drain on a 1.6TDCI MK2 Focus.
We have isolated it to fuse 107 (Instrument cluster and battery supply and on-board diagnostics): That is to say removing this fuse reduces the battery drain to almost nothing once that car is "sleeping". Before that we had about 0.5A dropping to 0.37A after a while. No particular persistent error codes.
Before this, removing the various head unit/audio fuses didn't seem to matter.
i couldn't find anything particularly useful on the internet about this - other than it could be a fault with the canbus/ any units that use it or any connections between them.
Is there anything we should go for first or just work through the possibilities? it's not too bad having a few mins break in the sun at the moment trying to trace it, but it is beginning to drag...
Cheers!
