I am looking for some info, thinking of getting a Focus Active X estate 1.0 eco, from people experiences or knowledge are these pretty good and reliable.

I have read about the wet belts, not sure if these are a issue though.

Am I better off looking at a 1.5?

Thanks

Current production trend (when its available to order from factory again) dictates the 1.0 mild hybrid with 153hp is the one and only ro go for. My boss has that spec and he's pleased with it.

Last time I checked the following changes had occurred
1.0 petrol available as both normal 123hp and hybrid 153hp
1.5 petrol no longer available
1.5 diesel automatic only
2.0 diesel no longer available (which mine is)

Overall its a very capable car handles well on motorways, city and when weather gets nasty stick it in slippery mode. Spec was also generous back in 2019 with heated winscreen/seats and a full glass roof. Reversing wise its definitely a bonus if the rear camera option was chosen.

Thank you for your reply, I did look at one yesterday (used) and the only thing that put me off was the slightly lower roof (we have a tall greyjound) and the light interior lining and side panels down the a posts etc, we are used to the darker interiors.

We are going to have a look at a SLine estate today which has the 1.5 engine. Is there a reason this is no longer available, I thought it was the same detuned Fiesta ST engine.

Thanks

Think its all to do with emissions and buying trends, I know when I ordered mine (at time of release) the sales guys were certainly pushing me to go for the 1 litre. I just think without the hybrid tech it would be underpowered? basically a battery under passengers seat that then wont allow it to have lumber support but with that the battery only provides power to the motor during acceleration only. As said my boss is happy with his mhev.

I don't know if it helps but you are able to drop the floor on the estate which will give you a few more inches? Think my parents greyhound had been in the boot at one stage. Know where your coming from with the darker interior but once you get use to it, its actually horrible going back to a darker interior I basically leave the sunroof blind open quite often if I'm doing less than 40mph have the sunroof open.
As the ST-line is lower, I have seen the hatchback version suffer with damaged sills however on the Active as its that bit higher shouldnt suffer with kerbs and bumpers etc

The only thing that put me off is all the info on the 1.0 and being very temperamental and info saying avoid.

I have a 2.0 ecoboost petrol at the moment and this is spot on.

Wasn’t aware of the floor, shall have a look when we go.
