17 Plate Fiesta New Engine for Low Compression?

A Ford dealer has diagnosed that my 17 plate Ford Fiesta has low compression ( engine light is on and it drives with some lag ). They say that the fix is a new engine for 6.5k or trade in for another car! should I take their word for this? I'm not sure what the right course of action should be.

Is it the 1.0 Ecoboost? Google for problems if so.

Low compression can be caused by many things ... .don't go for a new engine just yet!
