What to look out for when buying a Mk.2 Focus RS?
Discussion
Hi guys,
I’ve recently had my M135i stolen by some scumbags so I am on the need of a new car and the best combo of price and insurance has lead me to getting a Mk2 RS.
Given their age, some are high mileage examples; what should I be looking out for? If we are hitting around 80k miles, what work should of been done to ensure a faultless ownership?
Also are Lux packs essential or is it likely I will be fitting an updated unit anyway?
Thanks guys!

Lux pack 1 is climate, auto wipers, parking sensors, keyless etc so you'll want that. Pack 2 is sat nav and reversing cam which you'd probably want to replace with a modern unit if you wanted something useable.
As with all fast Fords, most issues are caused by the idiot behind the wheel so it's worth spending the time to find something stock with good service history.
