2015 electrical gremlins. Forscan cable?

My wife's Fiesta has developed a number of electrical issues recently. She took it to a Ford specialist for diagnosis, but because of the nature of the problem they apparently said it needed to go to main dealer...who want £120 just to scan it.

In short:

High level brake light flashing constantly.
Cruise control was intermittent (sets then turns off a while later on its own) but now won't work at all.
Hill start assist not working (this seems to have just happened today). When pulling to a stop, warning appears on dash.

I have a VCDS for my car, but never played with a Ford scanner. Is Forscan a decent option? Or any other scanner that you guys would recommend?
