Fiesta mk7 radio not working
Discussion
I've done millions of internet searches but results are patchy.
None of the buttons are working on the infotainment thingy - the hazard and door-locking do work, but nothing else.
I've pulled the button console out, and the cd/radio box, disconnected and reconnected twice, disconnected the battery for 10 minutes, and nothing - it's all dead.
One clue - I inserted a CD, and it started to play - but I couldn't make any changes to anything.
So - it seems likely that the CD/radio is fine, but the button console is fubar?
Any experience of this please?
And is there a good Ford-specific forum, as I haven't found one yet?

I'll update this as strangely there are numerous threads on this (on the interweb generally), but very few answers.
There are three elements to these Ford radios - front control panel (shown above), metal box containing CD player, and the screen display in the top of the dash (shown above).
Anyway - there are a few comments saying you have to replace two or more of these three components as they are paired by Ford in the factory. I didn't find that necessary.
I bought 2nd-hand all three that came out of a single car, ensuring that the front control panel part number matched mine exactly 8a6t18k811bd
First step was to replace only this panel - and everything worked immediately - so on my late 2008 car at least, there was no pairing with the front control panel.

Hi Orangecurry
Same issue on my wife’s car but even worse - it is playing a CD constantly and we can’t stop it or adjust the volume, and it’s Adele’s first album! We arrive places ready to top ourselves.
So I’m glad to read you found a solution - thanks for sharing it. As you say other threads on this online are sketchy!
I wanted to check however, were your steering controls also affected?
Cheers.
