XR2 Racer - small race full tank

In a bid to get our racer more competitive we're trying to loose some weight ( not me, the car!). Its 850kg and we are looking to trim it down to 830kg. As we get fuel surge on hard cornering or particularly hilly tracks we need to run the car with at least 3/4 full tank, so about 30 litres of fuel, when in fact it probably only uses 5-10litres on a race. This added fuel and the size of the tank is a lot of uneccesary weight, so does any one know
1. What size fuel tank would be best/ will this stop fuel surging?
2. Where you can get one
3. How much it would cost
4. How hard/easy would it be to fit, is it a diy job or does it need seriously competent(expensive) mechanic to do it?
5. Does anyone know anyone around Essex who could do this!

This should be trivially easy to source and fit for somebody competant to spanner a race car.
