I'm looking at maybe buying a 2014 Kuga with the 1.6 Ecoboost SCTi engine. I gather these are a cambelt rather than a chain but what is the cambelt interval on these please?

Can't find a clear answer online and I assume its the same engine as in the Focus of the same generation. Perhaps an oil soaked belt affair? Any advice welcome as I'd hate to buy a car that needs it doing immediately! This Kuga has about 70k on the clock.

Just looking at getting one done on a 1.6 ecoboost focus of ours. Interval is 10 years or 125k miles. This engine is actually based on the old 1.6 Zetec's and I am led to believe the cambelts are known on these for lasting way longer than the recommended interval. Will be getting ours done for peace of mind as it is just at the 10 years mark. (did look at doing the job myself, but it looks like it would benefit from having a ramp etc)

forgot to add - it's worth replacing the water pump whilst you are at it!

It's sold here as the Ford Escape, but oddly the service manual doesn't give a mileage to change the belt.

But the owners manual says every 150000 miles.
