Hello everyone , I have a fiesta zetec s 2005 with 65k miles , and I’m just wondering if anyone can give me tips on making the car more reliable and an all round better drive

E.g
Better breaks
Exhaust
Remap ?
Intake ?

Any advice is appreciated
Thank you

All of the things you mentioned might make your driving experience more enjoyable but with the prices of low milage standard Zetec S rising I would be tempted to keep it standard and put the money you were going to spend on mods in the bank and save for an ST, then when you sell your low milage standard you will get maximum return.

Would recommend watching many youtube videos and reviews of things like exhausts before you buy as a droning noisy exhaust can ruin the driving experience completely.

Tdlr, ignore me in an old duffer.

My mates wife has a 2006 zetec s, cracking little car. Im torn between an st or zetec s as new daily at the minute.

Better brakes - 280mm set up from an ST150 bolts straight on or a 300mm set up from a mk3 Mondeo/ST170 but this will need the hub bolts drilled out to 12mm you’ll need ST170 discs either way as the Mondeo discs are 5 stud, you could also just go performance pads on your current set up

Exhaust - Miltek 4-2-1 & cat back system

Remap - don’t bother (unless you have the derv)

Intake - K&N panel filter in the standard air box

I modify everything I own, but got to agree with MightyBadger here... seeing one of these cars in standard form these days is such a rare thing I say keep it standard!

Oem+ it. This is my low mileage very early pre face-lift mk6 zetec s petrol 16v.

Look a little plain standard, everything ive done can get reversed easily if need be, not that I'll sell.

Great cars (after replacing a sh*t load of things Inc the cat (c*nt of a job btw)

Have 'played' with multiple st150s and the zs is a little faster down back roads, being lighter, more eager to rev and more eager to turn in than the St. The St only really gains after 80/90mph...
