Hi all, we have a 2019 focus active with panoramic roof and no rails and need some roof bars to mount a roof box.

In a classic move I've bought a box before realising how difficult it is to find bars.

Does anyone know of a set of bars suitable for this car?

Thule don't provide one, and I can't get one from the ford accessory shop.

Thank you

Ford do, do one there's a poster in my local agent. Also seen on

https://carwitter.com/ford-focus-active-review/

Infact I think its these ones

https://shop.ford.co.uk/products/focus-roof-cross-...

But note comment - panorama roof cannot be opened with cross bars fitted. A special restrictor to prevent the panorama roof from operating is included in the kit

I too have been looking and asking but didn't get a response from a thule agent.

  • Thread Resurrection **

Hi I have also got a 2019 Focus Active hatchback with a panoramic roof. I’m in the same boat, need a roof rack, but it seems Ford and everyone else doesn’t do them for the hatchback!,

I’ve looked at the previous posters link, and it shows the hatchback with roof rails, but where do they come from!,

I don’t understand having an ‘ACTIVE’ without the ability to put a roof rack on it!!

Anyone out there help?

Worth asking if these will fit:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/393511786495

I’ve just fitted roof bars to my fiesta, which involves removing the weatherstripping from the roof to reveal the threaded mounting holes, I assume the non-railed focus would be similar.

ETA - you can probably ignore the above, I've just looked at pics for the pano roof....

There may be a different method of fixing, similar to the mk1 focus which had mounting holes behind the weatherstripping within the door aperture (proper threaded holes, not those crappy universal clamp around jobbies).

From images I'd of said you'd be same as the estate, just checked my old emails and boom https://www.roofracks.co.uk/thule-fit-guide/2013
I've gone for pro-bars, noisy but very versatile with use be it bikes, box, ladders and future cars but I don't leave them on.

Fitting wise its literally rubber pads with a clamp that you tighten onto the rails

Then there should be a genuine set of bars available from ford/Thule.

Worth asking that eBay seller, and/or nipping to your local dealer with a parts department and asking them.

I’ve been to Ford, they have no roof bars listed, they only have them for the estate version. :roll eyes:
