Mk7.5 Fiesta gear ratios
Discussion
Anybody know what the gear ratios are for the 5 speed 998cc ecoboost mk7.5 Fiesta.
Haines manual says it is the IB5 box which is the same as the Mk6 and I think the Mk5
I have found a number of places suggesting it is 3.15, 1.91 1.28,0.95 with final drive of 3.82. Anybody know for certain ?

I have a 2015 125Bhp Fiesta 1.0 and it has an FD 3.61 and gear ratios of 1st 3.58 - 2nd 1.92 - 3rd 1.20 - 4th 0.87 - 5th 0.68 The 99Bhp version also has the same ratios.
I know that the 140 version had different ratios but not sure
The red and black edition / zetec s 140 Bhp has the following ratios 1st 3.58 - 2nd 1.93 - 3rd 1.28 - 4th 0.95 - 5th 0.76 with a FD 4.06
The above information is from Ford Etis so it will be correct. Not sure what you are after doing with the 5 speed but be warned it is not very strong I changed mine out for a 6 speed from a Focus of the same era then changed the FD from 4.05 to 3.85 from the Fiesta ST as I found them too short.
Haynes manuals are rubbish you are much better off setting up a Ford Etis account paying for an hour then download the mechanical information for your car I have used this service many times and found it very good.

Thank you for the replies.
We are having a go at climbing in a road going class and wanted to figure out the optimum gear change points. For what we are doing the gears are far too long. Plainly the car is not competitive in the class as it is far too heavy. 1960 minis, midgets and the like are far quicker but it is a bit of weekend entertainment.
Realise we will probably break the gearbox at some point.
The car is 2014 125 bhp so will calculate with the ratios you have suggested.

Hi twing, I see from reading an old post you might be able to point me in the right direction ref some final drive info, iam aware of a 5 speed mk7 fiesta that has a final drive of 4.6, would you know of a way on how to check from a vehicle reg, rather than manual stripping thins down, cheers Rick Gassing Station | Ford | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
