Hello, I’m about to do the glow plugs on my 2004 Mondeo ST.

This is my dads car and first time working on it, what is the best way to remove them? As I’ve heard they can snap. Can they be soaked with anything prior to removal to help them come loose?

Thanks

Get some Plusgas or similar into the recesses a few days before removal, ensure the engine is hot when removing & don't monster them!

The throttle body & inlet manifold will have to be removed, I think the manifold uses Torx Plus security screws (5 rather than 6 point) & has a specific 2 stage tightening sequence.

Very easy job - have a look on YouTube for a video of someone doing the same job. There's quite a few on there.

Run engine before will help also. Never had issues removing them from others when had engine ran before removal
