Help!

My girlfriend has 2 weeks ago bought a 1,800 mile 70 plate Focus ST-Line 1.0 Ecoboost Mhev 155PS from Ford main dealer

All okay on handover, however 1 week in the car broke down. Diagnosis - drive belt tensioner overtighted causing the drive belt to break.

The car has been recovered back to the dealer and repaired, though at this stage not sure what they'e done other than the belt and tensioner.

Dealer has said they will change the car, or possibly refund the purchase as it's within their mileage/time threshold.

Question is - would you keep it or get rid - might there be future problems? Even though there is still 2.5 years warranty remaining.

First inclination is to send it back, they're not exactly rare - but it was a good example in as new condition (not all of the ones we looked at were!).

Any thoughts?

Drive belt is a fairly simple fix and I wouldn't of thought it could of caused issues elsewhere.

Trouble is things do happen, if you really do like the car I'd opt for extended warranty.
