Ford KA 2009, possible engine swaps.

Hi every one,

I have buy a Ford Ka 1.2 59 kw petrol.
I need to swap mij engine for a good engine and found a Fiat 500 engine (: , but will it work?


Engine code Ford ka: 169A4000 ( my car )

Fiat 500 engine code: 312AXA1A ( 1.2 59kw, look like same )


I want to hold the ECU of the ford and put the ( same ) looking fiat engine in there, but wil this work or can i better look for a 169a4000 ford engine?

It will be very helpfull if anyone can help me out.

This surely is the excuse you need to see what you can actually shoehorn in to the engine bay.?

Why i should? I have found a engine nearby and want to know if this is possible ( there is no garanty on the engine ).
The Ford Ka 1.2 engine comes from Fiat, if i'm right some engine will the same like fiat 500 1.2, fiat panda 1.2, fiat punto 1.2. But i want to be sure about it.

I hope i will help anyone with this question. It's possible, it will fit 1 on 1 without problems ( like sensors, everytingh is the same)
Only you need to take care is the pully of the crankshaft. crankshaft pully for with airco have more teeths on it, if you dont have airco replace the crackshaft pully or your drivingbelt will nog fitt.
