Hi all,

Looking at finally getting a car again and been looking at these. Won't be using it much as I live in London, so will just be for weekend jaunts to the countryside and maybe popping to the big supermarket once a month.

Are the motors in these ok, any turbo worries? The 100hp enough for this size car?

Anything I should look at especially when viewing?

Thanks for any help

Josh

100 bhp is plenty in a car of this size, for the use that you have specified.

There have been plenty of documented problems with the 1.0 Ecoboost Engine, regarding overheating, coolant issues and resultant head gasket failures. However, there have been fewer failures recently, and you should be buying the tail end of the suspected units (if they haven't already been recalled).

If I had to go for a 1.0 Ecoboost, the 100 bhp version probably is the version I would go for.

Not a Focus but I had the Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost 125 and it was a cracking little engine. So much Torque that it should be fine even in the bigger Focus for the use you need.

Most were recalled for warranty work.
