I have a 2007 MK4 Mondeo 2.5T Ghia, which currently has the engine out for rebuild.

It's having new, uprated Ductile liners fitted and obviously as it's apart it will be getting new headgasket, belts, seals etc, so the block mod can be sorted.

I have ummed and ahhhed about forging the engine, but I'm not chasing big figures as such, but after going through all of this I'd like to get something decent out of it, so if I stayed with standard internals and turbo (will rebuild the turbo so it's nice and fresh) what power figure could I hope to achieve that is "safe". I'm thinking somewere in the region of 340-360BHP. Happy to swap to RS Injectors and any other minor upgrades and obviously the breathing and cooling will be be sorted.

Additionally, I'm basing most of my data on Focus ST tuning as naturally there is far more info out there for that, but is there anything different I need to consider aside from the obvious exhaust and intercooler differences? I know mapping will be different, but again that's covered. I also know the Mondeo doesn't have the sound generator pipe or whatever it's called, but as far as I am aware there are no other differences that would affect things.

Finally, assuming 350BHP and x amount of torque to match, will the standard Mondeo Clutch be sufficient? If not, would the MK2 Focus RS Clutch fit, assuming it is stronger? If so, would I need the flywheel to match? I need a new clutch anyway as the existing one doesn't have much meat left on it, so whilst it's out it would be silly not to. The flywheel will go again though.
