Hey all,

Several times recently the missus has called me to come jump start her 2012 Fiesta as it wont start, last time was last night. Literally jump leads on it and it goes again.

So today got myself a multimeter and tested it, 12.6v just at the battery only and 14.4v when cars running so that tells me the battery and alternator are fine? Going to clean up the battery connections as thinking maybe a dirty connection?

When it wont start it doesn't even attempt to go, turn ignition and thats it nothing. Any other ideas? car does short journeys all the time (max 10-20 mins).

Just tested my daily Leon TDI as well 12.2v battery and 14.5v when running so potentially a dicky battery there but its not been used much recently.

Guessing this is a common Fiesta fault?

Reckon that's the offender? Will take it all off and clean it up later.

It could be the interlock switch on the back of the ignition barrel, look on youtube it's a common problem.
