Which Fiesta ?
Discussion
I don't think there's a "bad" model Fiesta, but at that budget you're probably best looking for an early-ish Mk7. Petrol came in 1.25, 1.4 and 1.6 na version, and later was the 1.0 ecoboost (turbo) which is generally well regarded, but that is probably over budget.
For cheap and reliable running the 1.25 or 1.4 are probably the best choices, the engine's been around for ages and are pretty bulletproof. I've driven the 1.25 and although it's not that powerful by today's standards it's still perfectly fine, especially if it's a first car or used as a runabout. My sister's had a 1.4 for the past 10 years and it's not let her down.
Entry level trim level is either Style/Edge which is pretty basic (tend to be steel wheels, no air-con), Zetec tends to add things like air-con, alloys, electric mirrors, etc, and is probably the best option. Zetec S is the "sporty" version with bigger alloys, bodykit, etc. Titanium will come with extra gadgets like upgraded stereo, etc.
Something like one of these would be worth looking at:

One last thing, 5 doors is more practical and easier to get out of in tight spaces. The length of the doors on the 3dr version make it harder to open if there's not much room.
