I have a Mondeo MKIV saloon 2012 1.6DCi 85kw.
Whilst driving last week, a large red triangle appeared on the dash, saying Engine Failure. The car was still driving fine, so I got it home. However, after I switched ignition off, it failed to start again. It doesn't even crank. If you press the OK button on the steering wheel, the message changes to Power steering fault. Press again and it's Immobilizer fault. I tried 3 different diagnostic checks, but none of them will connect or read.
I assume its a BCM or ECU fault. So, if I start with a second hand BCM first (about £30), does it need programming? Do I need a kit?
So, any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
