Any MK8 Fiesta ST owners here?

Seriously looked at a ST3 with performance pack back in Jan. If I wasn't going to take a bath on my ST line I'd have bought one.
Very stiff ride though or maybe I'm getting old....
Not as crashy as the Mk7.5 ST, and no where near as firm as the Mk3 RS.Very stiff ride though or maybe I'm getting old....
I think the Mk8 ST is nicely setup (lighter alloys and coilovers on the Perf Ed may help that further)
I think it rides better than my Dad's Golf GTi too.
Had mine just over a year/12K miles and really enjoy it. Suzuki Swift Sports, Mini Cooper and A1 came before, the St is in my opinion better than them all. Certainly quicker but the damping I think is way better than any of them and I like the 3 pot sound.
Did some 'warranty friendly'/easy to remove mods such as Mountune airbox and throttle body elbow. Might have made it a touch smoother and a hint of induction only at higher revs. Added led bulbs from ceuk as the standard halogens weren't up to much over the winter, replaced the front fog/cornering and reversing bulbs too with their leds which made things just a little crisper. Paintmodz airbox, battery and a/c pipe covers with a pro hoses intake just to make it a little less plain to look at and nb styling bonnet struts to replace 'the stick'.
Use it everyday and it needed its first service not long after 8K miles. The sync has frozen a couple of times but there is a soft reset you can do which works and saves a trip to the dealers. Other than that, I plan to keep for another year and enjoy!

We accidentally bought this last weekend, when collecting the RS from service. Got an offer on our Mk7.5 ST we couldn’t refuse.
Poor thing sat in the garage doing nothing... but it’s a cracking drive for the few miles we’ve done.
Given you could spend 20k on the Fiesta and the early Mk3 Focus RS is approaching 20k which would you choose if you could only have one. I'm tempted by the RS but leaving it somewhere and getting followed home would always be a concern.Poor thing sat in the garage doing nothing... but it’s a cracking drive for the few miles we’ve done.

I also found that in standard power it lacked a bit of fizz, so made sure I bought one with the FPM 375 upgrade. In comparison, the Fiesta feels like a little terrier that wants to go any play.
I guess it depends what you want to do with the car. The Fiesta is surprisingly competent and long distances (more so than the Mk7.5) but it's so much easier in the RS. If it's hoofing round A and B roads, it becomes a bit harder to choose...
I love the RS. You can potter around town quite happily (the ride is firm) and when you want to hoof it, you can. Not exactly discreet though - but seems to attract fewer idiots than the orange Mk2 ST I had.
Fiesta is a hoot, and surprisingly nippy. Not had it long enough to establish the idiot attraction quotient.

Doing a bit of research as I’m considering one of these and have come across this thread.
Bought a 17 plate Octavia VRS 230 DSG In December. Lovely car but doesn’t feel quick or fun to drive. It’s effortless and has all mod cons.
I don’t need a big car, something smaller such as the ST would be best I think! Real world fuel economy?
Would I miss the Skoda?! Tempting.

I'm joining the club, well sort of.
I talked my missus out of a new Evoque and she's agreed to a Puma ST
I told her that the "ST" was short for "Shopping trolly" and the diff that the sales lady was going on about will make the car easier to park.
She know's I'm full of scheiss
I'll report back when it's here.
She actually agreed when I explained to her that 3 years depreciation on the Range Rover would probably pay for the entire cost of the Puma.

I've got a performance blue ST3 with LSD. Only had it for four months but it definitely makes you smile when you get in it. The engine noise is lovely, especially considering it's a 1.5 3 cylinder.
I had to explain to my youngest daughter that ST is for stop. The red callipers are to make sure it's slow. She does not like making progress in a car.
