Hi chaps.
My son recently hit a pot hole in his 1.6 fiesta.
It’s an S1600 model, 2010.

Had a slow puncture.
While driving to get it repair, the tyre just let go completely, huge hole in it.

Needs a new tyre.

Thing is, this car only has a compressor in the boot and some solution you put in the tyre to repair a puncture, all be it a very small puncture I would imagine.

So, would it be advisable to buy a spare wheel with tyre, so if this happens again he can just change the wheel.

Not sure how good the puncture sealant is as never used this sort of thing.

Any help would be great, thanks.

Sounds logical, just google fiesta 2010 spare wheel kit. As then you'll get the skinny steel wheel with tyre, jack and mounting bolt for the boot. Depending what wheels you've got in at moment you might need different bolts. Could even check out the online car scrapers.

or carry a full size spare in the boot. The S1600 just used Zetec-S wheels so just get one of those, or any really in the same size.

Found this on eBay

Nice one, thanks for that, really helpful.

That would fit in the boot space I take it..!!

Should do as a space saver would have the same overall diameter. I assume that the Fiesta has a spare wheel well but the full size may stick up higher. Ford may do a kit to fit a full size in the well. They did for the Mk3 Mondeo which was just a surround so the boot carpet / floor is flat.

Well yes, that should be obvious. Carry a hi-viz vest and some disposable gloves aswell so you can bee seen and keep your hands clean when changing a wheel.

What about a warning triangle, and pulling off the highway. So some nobber doesn't wipe you out if you're changing an offside wheel?

I'm of the generation that had to change carburettors and starter motors during their lunch hour. I'm not sure I'd tackle changing an offside wheel these days. (depending on vehicle location).

By the way, isn't there a silent k in knobber? hehe
