Oil Change Warning has come on at around 13,000 miles, fair enough it's based on usage etc. Dealer says this means it needs full service, is this true even though service interval is 18,000/2years? Or should they be offering a simple oil and filter change only? There are no other warning notices active. Any thoughts?

Without knowing the specifics - could it be 2 years since it was PDI'd/registered?

OK mystery solved, the oil change warning does not equate to needing a service, just that the oil is degraded and an oil/filter change is required (and the user can reset the warning). Dealership made the assumption that as it was only 6 months/5000 miles to the scheduled service it would be more cost effective to have a full service. When I pointed out that I wasn't given the option and that it should be my choice not their assumption, they agreed and did the full service for the cost of the oil and filter change and saved me 130 quid. Not often I say this but good service from a main dealer (went there for convenience because there was also a software upgrade due).

When did Ford change the service intervals on the Focus to 18000/2 years?
My last Focus was a Mk.3.5 and servicing was required annually or 12.5k miles.
