Mk 3 Mondeo 2.0 Titanium X Sport ownership?
Discussion
I currently have a Mk 3 Focus Zetec S 182, 62 plate and just ticked over 63k miles. I’m considering a bigger car with some nicer toys (mine even has wind up windows in the back!) and have always liked the Mondeo and in Titanium X trim it looks great too.
Does anyone have one or perhaps has had one? I know the gearbox needs an oil change every so often but other than that any major issues? Consumables and servicing is Ok? Looking for ownership experiences really.

I have a 2010 Titanium X Sport Ecoboost, for coming up to 6 years now. It hasn't put a foot wrong really. A couple of wear and tear bits have been required for the odd MOT, namely the notorious rear subframe bushes, and a broken exhaust hanger, but other than that it's been as good as gold.
If you go for a 2.0 Ecoboost with the Powershift box make sure you get it serviced every 3 years/36k miles and it shouldn't cause you any trouble.

Thanks Howard. What sort of MPG are you getting? My journeys are only 3 miles to work and back then a longer one at the weekend, around 120 miles all in, mostly A road and dual carriageway. If you go for a 2.0 Ecoboost with the Powershift box make sure you get it serviced every 3 years/36k miles and it shouldn't cause you any trouble.
I had a 2009 Titanium X Sport for a while a few years ago. It was one of the super-rare ones with the 2.5 engine from the Focus ST, so I can't comment on performance/mileage, but the trim level was fantastic, and it was just a lovely car to drive. Very comfortable car and very good value. Lots of good toys and gadgets. The only niggle I had was a squeaky rear bush that I never managed to track down.
Sadly, some wee ned in a stolen Audi drove into the side of me... although as a result I can also say that the side-impact protection is excellent.

You'll probably see around 35 MPG average with that driving. I average ~30 MPG on my commute which is Bracknell <> Teddington via the M3. On a long journey without heavy traffic I can see 40 MPG.Gassing Station | Ford | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
