Thrilling topic I know....

I want to buy a Transit to convert into a stealth camper for weekends away with the MTB, so have begun the search for a suitable van.

I'm thinking Transit as there are loads out there and they seem good value, simple things.

I want to go for MWB, and at 5'9 I'm wondering if I can get away with a medium roofed model. The high top roofed ones seem more expensive, and less stealthy.
I've done a bit of research but it's confusing as people talk about FWD and RWD, and that TWD apparently has an extra 4" of head room.

Is there anyone with first hand experience of Transit headroom heights please? Specifically the Mk7 models as they seem the best value!

Cheers

FAF

Internal heights are Low 1.33M, Medium 1.645M, High / Jumbo 1.885M. There isn't any internal height difference between FWD & RWD, but there is an overall height difference as RWD models sit higher to accommodate the rear axle / diff.

Generally speaking SWB's are FWD, MWB FWD & LWB RWD. If you don't plan to do regular heavy work or towing, FWD is the better option. Sitting slightly higher at the back (& a diff if you look underneath) give away RWD
