Grinding noise only on downshifts?

Hi all,

I have a mk7 2017 Ford Fiesta ST-Line and recently whenever I've shifted into 3rd gear from 4th or 5th going over 50mph, it will grind really badly and resists the gear change. If I force the change it will go in and be fine but it feels horrible to do and it never happens shifting into it from 2nd or 1st (so I will now just shift to 2nd and then shift up to 3rd). Anyone know what could be causing this?

Worn syncro rings in the box.
Try double de clutching

I had similar on a Celica years ago, essentially the gearbox will likely need work so you may well have to get used to it or pay out for a gearbox reconditioning.
