Escort MK1 - Zetec/Duratec? specialist on a budget?
Discussion
Afternoon Chaps,
Recently aquired an Escort MK1 1969 in very nice condition, close to no rust...
Now being a 1300 deluxe, Id want a new drivetrain.
Its a very original car, and I dont want to spend 20 grand on a conversion..
Id appreciate if someone could point me in a direction of a sensible place to have a duratec/ Zetec Blacktop/Type 9 Gearbox
conversion carried out along with some mild suspension tweaks.
Id like a duratec-R but those engines are 7k with auxillaries etc, it quickly becomes expensive...
Cheers,

You could speak with retroford, I know then through kitcar circles as we use their conversation parts but they may be able to suggest a workshop that can carry it out.
