My mother is after a fiesta auto. The price new and slightly used is very little difference. Dies anyone know when the new model is out. In half considering waiting for the new one. She is replacing a 2014 fiesta manual so may as well go for something more up to date. The current fiesta and the dash slash technology is dated compared to competitors.

Apparently 2017 was the launch of the 7th generation, so nothing new on the horizon.

Dated technology has a small advantage, as it looks like new technology means paying every month for stuff you thought you had bought smile

Also, are the new (2018 onwards ) easy to nick and have Ford done anything about it. Should I get keyless disabled?

Apparently little progress has been made on that front but you can disable the obd by pulling a fuse and have keyless turned off

I have a new (MK8) on order hoping to get end of next month

The key fob on latest models goes to sleep after a few seconds of inactivity, so the car will not be vulnerable to relay theft.

Quick google suggests mine may mor may not have this

The new key will be rolled out the new fobs across the Ford model range by 2021, with all Focus models built after May 2019 being delivered to customers with the new key.

You say you have a new Fiesta on order, so it will definitely have it. smile
I believe the Fiesta was first to receive it ahead of the Focus, but both models are currently being delivered with the new technology with existing models cheap and easy to retrofit.
