New on here, usually on the Jaguar page. Please bear with me, not sell up on my Fords, so many variations.

I am viewing a 2009 2.2 tdci mondeo with 69k on the clock tomorrow.

Is there anything I should be checking for please ?
It has FSH, two owners.

What are common issues with these ?
Are they timing belt or chain driven ? Its a but contradictory when I research.

Its gonna be pounding up and down the M6 a lot.

Appreciate your comments please

Great cars when they're running correctly, I've seen almost 60mpg on a decent run, ran one for a year.

Walk away if the engine isn't running smoothly.

It can be injectors or pump, both costly repairs.

If it has a clatter at idle that goes away with revs then the flywheel is on the way out, so budget for that to be done at one point.

Also, a recent starter motor change can point to a failing dual mass flywheel, the iron filings drop into the starter motor.

Thankyou for this, the guy is asking £4500 for it, I want it for £4.

What do you reckon ? It is very clean.

Sorry, I've no idea on the value, closed down forecourt a few years ago.

It's low mileage for a diesel Mondeo, check the history very carefully, as well as old MOT records etc...

But if it's all proper it'll be a nice motorway cruiser.
