My wife got a 2018 S-Max from new, for family wagon duties. I updated the SYNC3 and map a few months ago, following the instructions to a tee. USB in, update, arrow appears top right with a 'complete' popup. Remove USB, turn off the car, lock the doors for 2 mins (to ensure the unit powers off), then restart the car.

Almost every start since, a box pops up saying 'installation in progress - insert the usb to complete installation'. A new update was tried this week, same procedure. It says it was successful and asks me to remove the USB and restart the car, which I did. The message is still popping up... If I try to put the USB back in it starts the update all over again, to no improvement. I also tried leaving in the USB when restarting the car but the same thing happens - the update just starts from scratch.

I've tried a master reset and it's still happening. It's not worth the trouble of driving 10 miles to the dealer over, but I wondered if anyone knew how to sort it? The install was definitely completed, and the 'certificate' file was placed on the USB to upload to the Ford website, so it shouldn't be that.
