Apologies. Silly me, expecting folks on a petrol heads Ford forum, to know about probably the most iconic engine developed by Cosworth since the DFV, and used in pretty much every competitive MK I and 2 Escort rally car..Based on a Crossflow block I might add...:Mention of a Ford BD is hardly cryptic

Agree the engines look great, and invoke a lot of nostalgia and memories of a great period in motorsport. Fantastic to drive, not super fast by todays standard, but what they lack on power they make up in engagement and smile factor when you are revving them hard. The two I have were complete and running well, so not yet have I had the need to repair or modify as yet. Good luck with your build and do post some pics to educate others on this 'legend' of an engine.

The nostalgia and heritage are what I decided to go for.I could buy a crate Duratec for 2/3 of the price, or less, but just sticking a Duratec in would ruin my project I think.
A BDG would finish it off perfectly, and have plenty of power for such a light car.
