Hello guys, I'm planning on buying a fiesta st-3 2016 that is CAT:S, It's done 25,000 miles and is selling for £8000. I have tested the vehicle and found nothing wrong with it apart from one of the speakers didn't seem to work and the car slightly went to the left(tracking). Which they have now fixed after getting off the phone to them. They have also passed the MOT and nothing has came back within the report, not even any advisory's.

They said they have fully repaired the damage using a genuine Ford repair body shop in the area. Using genuine Ford approved parts.
The damage was: Front bumper. Headlight passenger side. Passenger wing.

Now my eye cannot tell if it was poorly done as it's in immaculate condition, the gaps in the doors are perfect, nothing wobbles and the paint work is all consistent.

Fishy part imo:
I asked to see invoicing or any proof of parts, even the body shop name. They said the following:

"Unfortunately, we don’t have the paperwork for the repair as we bought this car already fully repaired.
All we know this that the vehicle was registered back on road from 05/02/2019.
When we purchase the cars we get them checked out ourselves in order to make sure we are happy with them as we give the warranty with ourselves."

"X who you dealt with originally is currently on holiday but we get these cars from the same supplier and we don’t have problems with them. For Data Protection purposes I can’t give you their details but we have had a lot of cars from them. The car is repaired with Ford Genuine parts and then we assess the car to deem it worthy of us selling on and giving a warranty with it."

I then spoke to a mechanic, and they told me to ask them if there is a stamp at the back stating the warranty of 10 years corrosion if it was using genuine parts.
They then said this:

"I’ve looked and there isn’t a stamp in the book and this is how it will be sold. Let me know what you’d like to do."

So I really want this car. But I am 90% in, any opinions on this matter would be great!

Cat S is structural damage isn't it? That's going to be more than a bumper and wing on a 3 year old car surely?

100% walk away!

Bumper, headlight & wing - my a***. An undocumented approved repair - same place.

A bit like the talking dog a guy at the pub tried to sell to me, only problem was he couldn't let me hear it speaking - data protection, privacy & all that...
