I'm taking my sons 2013 Fiesta off the road for about 9 months. It will be on CTEK charger but outside. It's also now due it's annual service.
What's best, getting the service done now or waiting until its back in the road ?
And apart from overinflating the tyres any other tips ?
Cheers

I’d get it serviced now so at least in a few years time it shows it’s serviced correctly. At the end of the day for the sake of a 100 quid or so now and again in 12 months it’s no real harm

Here is my opinion...
The car is 6 years old so a full service record is not as important as it would be on a younger car. Everybody expects to see a full main dealer service record for at least the first 3 years, but after that any service record is a bonus. It will make little or no difference to the value of a 6+ year old car if it does not have a record of the most recent services.
A car of this age that has not been driven for 9 months will require an inspection to make sure everything is roadworthy.
The ideal thing to do is get a service and MOT when planning to put the car back on the road.
I am assuming the car will be SORN on private ground.

I would service it now.

Can you use it now & then ? That will keep it going & working.

OP said "I'm taking my sons 2013 Fiesta off the road for about 9 months", so one has to assume that is what he actually means. If the car was going to be used now and then during this period then surely he would have said that....and If that was the case then there would be no need for the original question.

To service the car now then put it off the road for 9 months will just be a waste of money.
